Hey, I am Liz, Founder of Mothers Connected and proud Mum to my two beautiful children, Betsy 7 years and Axl 6 months.

I am from the UK and becoming a first time Mama I didn’t have that “Village” they say it takes to raise a child. Family were not close by for support and the friendships I had made, well very few had children.

 In the thick of haywire hormones and sleep deprivation I felt isolated and overwhelmed but all that changed at week 8 when we attended a Mother’s Group. We were joined by 10 other new mums with babies of a similar age. We were in this together, no one really knew what they were doing, but we were able to turn to each other for support, share stories, laugh, cry and navigate this crazy journey of Motherhood side by side. These ladies became my Village, my go to at 1am when I was up for the 5th time that night. Honestly, our journey was far brighter for having these Mamas and their babies to share it with.

Fast forward 7 years and I am a new Mama again. I’m sure anyone else pregnant in the middle of a global pandemic can vouch that reality was quite different to the expectations you had. Post birth when searching for something like my first group I quickly established there was little out there, in a time where support and the need for connection is paramount… that is where Mothers Connected was born. 

My goal is to bring new Mamas together with babies of a similar age, whether it is your first or fifth baby. Mothers Connected is a beautiful space created through my passion to want to support and connect mothers, so they do not have to walk this journey alone. Motherhood is a tough gig. You don’t get a manual when you leave the hospital and at best, we are all winging it at some stage.

Mothers Connected is a warm, welcoming and safe space free from judgement. Weekly expert postpartum guest speakers will share their knowledge so you have tips and tricks, and contacts should you need further support in the future. Each week include chats with the other Mamas where friendships will be made, all while enjoying a delicious morning tea and a hot coffee from our beautiful barista, that you will not need to reheat 3 times before drinking!
